What Is the Launch X-431 PAD 9 Link?
The X-431 PAD IX LINK (PAD 9 for short) is Launch's flagship diagnostic tablet. On hardware it is a clear step up in the series: a 13.6 inch 2560×1600 display, a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor, 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
It ships with the new-generation SmartLink C V3.0 VCI for stronger WiFi communication and a more secure connection. Alongside CAN, CAN FD and DoIP it supports the J2534 standard, so programming with OE software is possible.
The IP65 rated body is protected against dust and low-pressure water jets — it is built for shop conditions. A 180° adjustable kickstand keeps the tablet upright without tipping.

How does the PAD 9 differ from the PAD VII?
The PAD 9 (PAD IX) is a newer generation: a larger, higher resolution display, Android 13, 12 GB RAM / 512 GB storage and the new SmartLink C V3.0 VCI. The PAD VII was the previous flagship.
What is J2534 support for?
J2534 is the standard that lets you program a vehicle using OE (original manufacturer) software, so module programming can be done with the manufacturer's own application.
Are commercial and EV coverage included as standard?
No. Standard coverage is 150+ passenger cars; 110+ commercial vehicles and 140+ new energy vehicles are optional. We can work out which coverage you need.
Does ADAS calibration come with the tool?
ADAS calibration is optional and requires a suitable calibration frame. We supply solutions for that as well — get in touch.
