What Conditions Cause Particulate Filter Clogging in Land Rover Vehicles?
Using the vehicle at low RPM and using poor-quality oil and fuel cause the particulate filter to clog.
If the particulate filter warning light on your instrument cluster is red, your particulate filter is full and must be cleaned.
If it is not cleaned, the vehicle will start emitting smoke from the exhaust and fuel consumption will rise.
There are two ways to clean the diesel particulate filter.
If you drive the vehicle for about 20 minutes at 60–100 km/h and 2500–3000 RPM, manual cleaning will begin.
If the vehicle still emits smoke from the exhaust after this, the particulate filter must be removed and cleaned on a machine.
When you bring your vehicle to us, we remove the particulate filter, connect it to the machine and inject a chemical fluid.
The machine then starts washing and cleaning, applying high pressure to remove soot inside the particulate filter.
After cleaning, the particulate filter is refitted to the vehicle and the vehicle is ready for delivery.
After cleaning, your vehicle will return to its previous fuel consumption and stop emitting smoke from the exhaust.
