Is it possible to increase performance in electric vehicles?

Electric vehicles are quite different from other vehicles in terms of their motors and many of their modules, but in terms of road handling they follow the same principles as other vehicles.

The motor inside these vehicles works on a very different principle, yet it is still possible to achieve performance gains in these vehicles as well. There are several ways to do this. Let's take a look at them together.

1- Upgrading the battery in the vehicle;

If you increase the battery capacity in your vehicle, the higher voltage obtained also provides a power increase. It is possible to replace the batteries in the vehicle with higher-capacity ones. For example, thanks to the components inside the batteries found in Tesla vehicles, their cooling capability is very high. As a result, they operate with higher performance. Therefore, battery upgrades made to our vehicle increase performance.

2- Improvements made to the electric motors;

The motors found in electric vehicles have a simpler working principle than internal combustion engines. For this reason, it is possible to add extra motors to electric vehicles. Adding auxiliary motors for each wheel, or replacing the existing motor with a more powerful one, will provide a power increase in the vehicle.

3- Making changes to the vehicle's computer management;

This applies if you can gain access to the vehicle's computer module. As with other vehicles, manufacturers limit the power output of the vehicle to ensure safety. By changing the software version on these vehicles, it is possible to obtain more power from the vehicle. You can think of this just like the chip tuning process applied to vehicles with internal combustion engines. Various tools and equipment are also needed to perform this process on electric vehicles. Although vehicle computers are protected, connecting to the computers of these vehicles will become possible over time, just as it did with internal combustion engine vehicles. Once this becomes possible, it will be possible to increase the vehicle's power.

Changes made to the inverter;

The inverter converts the DC current coming from the battery into AC current and transfers it to the motor. The higher the rotational speed of the motor, the higher the switching speed of the AC current. If the frequency is high, the power obtained from the motor can be correspondingly high. This frequency setting is optimized on every motor, but it is possible to change these settings.

Keeping the battery cool;

When batteries heat up, the power obtained decreases, but if we keep the batteries cool with options such as air cooling or liquid cooling, it is possible to increase performance.

By applying all of these methods, it is possible to achieve performance gains in electric vehicles.
