Renolink is an aftermarket interface and software combination whose name comes up particularly around certain coding, UCH and immobilizer-related jobs. Coverage varies with model year and software version; the claim that it "does every job on every Renault" is wrong.
The OEM route: Renault CLIP for Diagnostics and Programming plus the Renault CAN Clip Interface. Comparison: Renault CAN Clip or Renolink. On newer generations the Renault Security Gateway (SGW) can limit write coverage — no bypass instructions are given here.
When does it come up?
- Certain coding and UCH scenarios (Renault UCH (Cabin Control Unit) Faults, Renault Coding)
- Some key and card related work — still with no bypass instructions (Renault Key and Card Registration)
- Workshops looking for an alternative to OEM licence costs
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Renolink replace CLIP?
Not always. For flashing, the full OEM menu and SGW scenarios, the CLIP route may be the stronger option.
Does it open SGW?
This page makes no promise of opening or bypassing SGW.
Workshop notes
Clarify your target VIN and body list before buying.
Do not expect a speculative "one-click solution" on airbag and emissions work.
Choosing Renolink should be a deliberate decision based on your fleet and the type of work you do.
