VAG DPF reset is a workshop term covering service functions such as updating counter/learning values after diesel particulate filter service, or forced regeneration.
A "reset only" approach does not solve a mechanical blockage. Illegally defeating emission systems is unacceptable.
General approach
- Diagnose pressure/temperature sensors and DTCs first.
- Perform service regeneration if conditions allow.
- Reset the relevant counters after filter service (if supported).
- vag-adaptation if required.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a reset enough when the DPF light comes on?
Generally no; the cause must be diagnosed first.
Is it the same as GPF?
Some gasoline vehicles have a GPF; procedures may not be identical.
Does Nitro Bilişim sell DPF delete?
No. Emission system delete is not offered.
Diagnosis plus lawful service is essential for DPF work.
Workshop notes
Forced regeneration can fail if the regeneration conditions are not met.
Emission delete or DPF delete is not covered in this guide.
After a reset, verify counter and warning behavior with a road test; use vag-adaptation if needed.
