What Kind of Working Logic Do Electric Vehicles Have?

Fully electric vehicles work on a different operating logic than other cars.

Instead of an internal combustion engine, fully electric vehicles use a single electric motor.

They do not use fossil fuels like other vehicles; instead, they contain a large battery.

This battery is charged using electric vehicle charging equipment. Because they run on electricity, they have no exhaust pipe and produce no exhaust emissions.

They also lack fuel-related components such as a fuel tank or fuel pump. In short, these are the main differences between electric vehicles and other cars.

Let us take a look at the core components required for electric vehicles to operate.

What Are the Core Components in Fully Electric Vehicles?

Battery: In an electric car, the battery supplies the electricity needed to power all components in the vehicle. We can say it is the most important part of the car.

Charge port: The charge port allows the vehicle to connect to a charger so the onboard battery can be charged.

Converter: Converters in the vehicle transform incoming high-voltage DC power into the DC power required to run the vehicle and charge the battery.

Electric motor: This electric motor uses power from the battery to turn the wheels. In some vehicles, a generator is used for both driving and regeneration functions.

Onboard charger: It receives AC current supplied through the charge port and converts it to DC current to charge the battery. It also communicates with the charging equipment and monitors battery conditions such as voltage, current, and temperature during charging.

Controller: This component controls the speed and torque output of the electric motor and manages the flow of electrical energy supplied by the battery.

Cooling system: This component keeps the motor, controller, battery, and all other components at the appropriate operating temperature.

Transmission (Electric): It transfers mechanical power from the electric motor to move the wheels.

Of course, electric vehicles contain many more electronic parts beyond these. However, all the components listed above are the core parts required for electric vehicles to operate.
