What Is a MAN ECU Repair Device?
Today, vehicles are equipped with electronic systems. The ECU control unit is chief among them.
The engine ECU is a computer with a microprocessor capable of controlling all the sensors on the vehicle.
The ECU control unit is used in vehicle groups such as passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy-duty vehicles, tractors and construction machinery.
The vehicle engine ECU largely determines the torque produced by the engine by testing the CANLINE signals coming from sensors such as the crankshaft sensor, air flow meter sensor and turbo pressure sensor, preventing sudden power loss under heavy strain, and this system is used in all vehicle groups equipped with an electronic control unit.
Since vehicle ECUs contain complex integrated circuitry, finding an ECU fault is quite a difficult task.
How Is It Used?
Since 2009, Nitro Mekatronik has been providing sales and after-sales support for diagnostic tools and ECU programming devices in the automotive industry.
Drawing on our experience, and knowing how difficult a process diagnosing engine ECU faults can be, we manufactured our ECUTEST KF-1500 ECU test device.
With Ecutest, we can perform crankshaft input tests, injector tests, immobilizer tests and input/output tests of all the sensors on the ECU.
MAN heavy-duty vehicles use BOSCH engine ECUs. Before 2008, the BOSCH EDC7XX series was used, and in the years after 2008 the BOSCH EDC17CV42 model was used.
How is MAN ECU repair done?
All the parameters of the vehicle are loaded during ECU selection, and all the required information is automatically uploaded to a server.
Thanks to the database created by Nitro Mekatronik, the socket layout, diagram, photos and videos of the ECU selected during the operation will be displayed.
After the connection is made, it displays on screen the voltages the ECU should transmit, along with the injectors, sensor and valve outputs.
If there is any problem or connection fault in the ECU, the faulty section will be shown in red.
Once the ECU fault is fixed, the red color on the screen will automatically clear.
The simulated ECU behaves as if it were running on the vehicle, and with the button installed to act as the accelerator pedal, operations can be performed on all moving sensors and parameters.
Thanks to the engine control unit, pairings such as immobilizer, instrument cluster, ABS and body can also be performed.
Thanks to these operations, instead of replacing vehicle control units, we can repair them and bring them back into use.
Thanks to our ECU test device, the sensor inputs, voltage values, expected values and all measured values in engine control units can be viewed.
