Remote Vehicle Programming with Autel Remote Box | Authorized Service-Level ECU Updates

With its March 2022 update, AUTEL diagnostic test equipment manufacturer set a world first.

Universal diagnostic tools achieved about seventy percent success in online programming and coding operations. To perform these operations fully, an original authorized service device and again a service password for online use were required.

Autel now enables online programming service on many vehicles with the Remote Expert Box it developed. Let us examine together what these operations are and how they are performed.

First, there are two users as Expert and Technician.

To be an Expert user you must own one of Autel 909, 919 and Ultra devices; if programming will be performed you must have the OEM device, and you must also purchase the newly developed Remote Expert Box hardware.

To be a Technician user, owning any of Autel 906 BT, 906TS, 908S, 908S Pro, Elite, 909, 919, Ultra, 906S, IM608, 906Pro and 906Pro-TS diagnostic tools is sufficient.

What are the differences between Expert user and Technician user?

When you are an Expert user, with the hardware you own you can perform online programming directly on vehicles without being tied to any location. When you are an Expert user, you must have the service passwords of the vehicles you will program. You can examine why this is necessary in the continuation of our article.

The difference of the Technician user: if they own a lower Autel model than Autel Ultra, 919 or 909 and will perform programming, they need an Expert user. Because Remote Expert Box hardware is supported only with Ultra, 919 and 909 models.

To give an example from the Technician user: you run A auto service. A Volkswagen brand vehicle arrived and after repair, programming is required. You do not need Volkswagen's service device for this. If you own any of Autel 906 BT, 906TS, 908S, 908S Pro, Elite, 909, 919, Ultra, 906S, IM608, 906Pro and 906Pro-TS diagnostic tools, all you need to do is contact an Expert user and tell them the operation you want performed.

Expert users; can connect remotely to technicians' tablets and perform many operations such as online programming and coding, hidden feature activation, fault diagnosis and online parameterization.

On which vehicles is online programming performed?

Autel is a universal device with which you can perform fault diagnosis on nearly one hundred brands. With this update, on GM, Mercedes, Chrysler, BMW, Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Nissan, Honda and Hyundai vehicles it will perform online programming through remote connection from a single device when service passwords are available.

What are the advantages of being an Expert user?

Connecting remotely to the technician and performing programming operations and earning income from programming fees per vehicle.

At the same time, saving budget without being tied to other service devices thanks to the Autel MaxiFlash VCMI device in addition to OEM devices.

What Are the Advantages of Being a Technician User?

When you are a Technician user, you can receive programming service from an Expert user without paying for authorized service passwords.

At the same time, because the prices of Autel models you will use are more affordable, you can save on budget.

With a single device you can resolve online programming operations on nearly ten brands within minutes without being tied to authorized service and without the vehicle leaving your service.
