Mercedes Airmatic Fault

Air suspension diagnostic framework

Airmatic Compressor Air spring Xentry

What Is an Airmatic Fault?

Airmatic is Mercedes' air suspension system. Symptoms include the car sagging at one corner, the compressor running continuously, level warnings, or related DTCs.

Common suspects: air spring/leak, compressor, valve block, level sensor, or wiring. A “reset only” approach will not fix a leak.

Diagnosis reads the Airmatic/suspension module via mercedes-xentry. Calibration/learning may be needed after repair.

It is common on chassis such as the W212/W213; not every model has Airmatic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the compressor always the culprit?

No. A leak overworks the compressor; rule out the leak first.

Is coding required?

Coding/calibration may be needed depending on the part type.

Airmatic — Workshop Notes

A compressor running continuously is often the secondary result of a leak. Replacing the compressor without ruling out air spring or line leaks raises cost unnecessarily.

Level sensor calibration may be required after repair; menu names vary by model (mercedes-adaptation).

Airmatic complaints are common on W212/W213 fleets; not every E-Class has the same hardware. Consider the context of mercedes-w212-w213-coding.
