What Is Mercedes Injector Coding?
Mercedes injector coding is introducing the calibration/IQA-like values printed on an injector to the engine brain. The goal is for the ECU to know the exact characteristic so each cylinder gets the correct fuel amount.
On many common-rail diesels (and some direct-injection gasoline engines) it is recommended or required after an injector replacement. Skipping it can increase the risk of rough idle or cylinder imbalance.
This is different from general option coding; mercedes-adaptation may be needed afterward.
Entering the wrong code can be harmful. Use the VIN-appropriate menu with mercedes-xentry or a supported diagnostic tool.
