Historical Development of Electric Vehicles

One of the most prominent innovations among these has been electric vehicles.  Many brands produced electric cars for many years, but none achieved the desired success.

However, when Tesla began producing electric vehicles in 2006, it created a revolutionary effect in the automotive sector.

Today, many brands have accelerated electric vehicle production and it is seen that electric vehicle use will become quite widespread in the future.

Electric cars, as the name suggests, are automobiles that run on electrical energy. Environmental pollution caused by other fuels is completely prevented thanks to these cars, and because electrical energy is more economical compared to other fuel types, it provides great advantages to users.

Electric cars have brought new needs with them. As with most electrically powered devices, electric vehicles also contain batteries.

Just as other automobiles run on petrol or diesel fuels, electric automobiles use the electricity stored in their batteries as fuel.

New technologies have been developed to fill these batteries, and the most important of these is the EV Charging System.

What is an EV Charger system?

EV Charging is a charging system designed to fill the batteries of electric vehicles. There are two types of electric current in these EV Charger systems.

These are AC (Alternating Current) and DC (Direct Current).  The current coming from the grid arrives as AC current.

In AC charging systems, the incoming current is converted to DC to charge the battery. In this system, the incoming AC current is converted to DC inside the vehicle.

In EV charger systems with DC current, this converter is inside the EV charger system. In other words, the current arriving as AC is converted to DC current with EV Chargers that have DC current.

This allows the current to be sent directly to the battery without needing to be converted inside the vehicle. This system is faster than the other AC-current EV charger system.

Differences between AC and DC EV chargers?

In EV charger systems with AC current, the incoming power is converted to DC inside the vehicle, so no matter how powerful the incoming current is, only the converted current is transferred to the battery.

Therefore, the battery charges steadily in AC-current EV Charger systems. In contrast, in DC-current EV charger systems, because the current is converted within the system, a more powerful current is supplied to the vehicle. Therefore, faster charging is possible with DC EV Chargers.
