What Is Mercedes ECU Programming?
Mercedes ECU programming (often called "flash") is the reading and/or writing of a new software image on a control unit. The engine, transmission, ABS, or other modules can be the target.
This should not be confused with coding. The official route frequently uses Xentry and SD Connect.
A voltage drop or a broken cable during programming can damage the module. Stable charging support and the correct interface (mercedes-sd-connect-c4 / mercedes-sd-connect-c5-c6) are critical.
Online/offline and security requirements can vary by model; the claim that "every flash is done offline" is not reliable.
