Adaptation or learning is used in Renault workshops for the "basic setting / matching" steps of throttle, EGR, injector, clutch and other components. It is not the same as coding or flashing (Renault Coding, Renault ECU Programming (Flash)).
The menus sit inside Renault CLIP for Diagnostics and Programming and vary by model. On newer generations, write and learning steps may require authorisation because of the Renault Security Gateway (SGW).
When does it come up?
- Idle or drivability complaints after a part replacement
- Code plus learning needed after injector replacement (Renault Injector Coding (dCi))
- Certain learning steps after FAP regeneration or service (Renault FAP (DPF) Reset and Regeneration)
- Learning related to UCH or the body (Renault UCH (Cabin Control Unit) Faults)
Frequently Asked Questions
Is adaptation the same as coding?
No. Adaptation is mostly learning or basic setting; coding concerns configuration parameters.
Does every CLIP version show the same menu?
No. The vehicle, the software version and the authorisation level all affect the menu.
What does Nitro Bilişim offer?
Tool selection and guidance. There is no promise that "we solve every learning procedure remotely".
Workshop notes
Check the relevant DTCs and mechanical preconditions before starting a learning procedure.
Treating an AdBlue/SCR warning as something to "get around with adaptation" is the wrong approach (Renault AdBlue / SCR Faults (dCi)).
Correct adaptation follows correct diagnosis and the correct choice of procedure.
