In Turkish workshops the Renault and PSA term for a DPF is commonly FAP. "FAP reset" is used for service regeneration, the soot loading counter, or the related adaptation steps.
There is no promise of emissions system deletion or software removal. That carries legal and technical risk.
Symptoms (general)
- FAP or exhaust warning lamp
- Power loss, frequent regeneration
- Related pressure and temperature sensor DTCs
Diagnosis is carried out with Renault CLIP for Diagnostics and Programming. A pure "reset" will not miraculously clear a blocked filter; mechanical condition and driving pattern matter too. AdBlue/SCR is a separate system (Renault AdBlue / SCR Faults (dCi)).
| Topic | Note | Link |
|---|---|---|
| dCi engine / injectors | Injector health affects the FAP | Renault Injector Coding (dCi) |
| Adaptation | Learning after service | Renault Adaptation (Learning) |
| AdBlue / SCR | A separate emissions layer | Renault AdBlue / SCR Faults (dCi) |
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the FAP be deleted in software?
This page contains no emissions-defeat instructions or promises.
Does every warning mean the FAP must be replaced?
No. A sensor, the EGR, an injector or the driving profile can all contribute.
Workshop notes
Preconditions for a forced regeneration, such as oil level and engine temperature, vary by model.
On SGW-equipped vehicles the write steps may require authorisation (the Renault Security Gateway (SGW)).
FAP management is handled through diagnosis, the correct procedure and a lawful emissions framework.
