What Is the Magicmotorsport Flex ECU Software Reading Device?

MAGICMOTORSPORT FLEX ECU (ECU) SOFTWARE READING DEVICE — WHAT IS IT?

Flex is the new product from Magicmotorsport that replaces the X17 device; the company now plans to release all updates through this tool.

Flex consists of two parts and cables.

Split into Flex and Flex Box, this device lets you read the engine ECU (ECU) flash and EEPROM, and if needed, extract all software from inside the ECU.

Not satisfied with engine ECU work alone, Magicmotorsport also enables transmission board reading and TCU cloning with the same device.

Advanced schematic views and easy connections let you read and write with ease.

WHAT IS ECU SOFTWARE?
The ECU contains software. By modifying this software, desired operations can be performed on the vehicle.

You can perform ECU cloning, chip tuning, DTC off (fault code disable), and many other procedures.

HOW DO YOU CONNECT THE FLEX DEVICE?
The Flex device has three connection types: OBD connection, pin connection, and boot mode connection.

HOW TO CONNECT AND READ VIA OBD WITH FLEX?
The Flex kit contains two OBD cables: a green cable and a red cable.

When you open the Flex software and select the ECU, the schematic section shows which cable to use.

Connect the indicated cable to the vehicle, turn the ignition on, and follow the instructions in the Flex software.

The read process begins this way.

HOW TO READ WITH PIN CONNECTION ON FLEX?
Connect the Flex and Flex Box units together. Remove the pin cables from the kit and open the Flex software.

Select the ECU you will connect, attach the cables to the Flex unit and ECU pins according to the wiring diagram, then follow the device and software instructions to continue reading.

HOW TO READ IN BOOT MODE WITH FLEX?
Connect the Flex units as in pin mode, following the schematic.

Open the rear cover of the ECU and solder the boot cable (purple cable) to the point indicated.

If resistors are required in the connection, install them on the indicated legs and follow the given instructions.

That completes the reading process. Flex has a straightforward program and is easy to use.
