With advancing automotive technology, working on the ECU — the vehicle's electronic control unit — has now become much easier. As working on the ECU has grown, remapping vehicles has also become quite popular.

Remapping, that is chiptuning, has become widely preferred today due to rising fuel costs. Chiptuning is done to provide fuel savings and increase performance in vehicles.

The environmentally harmful gases in vehicles pass through filtering. After emission gas measurements, excessive gas levels can cause faults. You can also solve these faults in the DPF and EGR systems with the Flex device.

When customers bring in their vehicles, the file is read from the ECU, and the remapped file is loaded back onto the ECU. 

How does the Flex ECU programming device work?

Flex reads the identity of the ECU — that is, its EPROM and flash. Chiptuning, DPF, EGR, AdBlue and DTC-off operations are done through the flash. In cloning, the ECU reading operation is done with the EPROM.

The Flex device connects to the vehicle via the OBD, bench and boot modules. With the OBD and Bench modules, operations can be performed from the bench without needing to remove the vehicle ECU. 

The Flex package includes two OBD cables. Which cable should be used is shown in the Flex software. The cable is connected to the vehicle, the ignition is switched on, and the operation is performed as described in the software.

The bench module is a connection type made using pin leads. The ECU to be worked on is selected in the software, and the connection is made with the pin leads as shown in the connection diagram.

There is also the boot module, where the operation is done by opening the ECU cover and soldering the boot cables.
